If I was to be any one ingredient in beer, I would choose yeast. Yeast is the quiet thinker, the steady worker, the heavy lifter and the guy who gets things done…but never brags about it. Yeast is the reason beer works. This episode we’ve taken a look at three beers with a specific strain of Brettanomyces (yeast) as an ingredient and discuss the aroma, flavor and finishing effects on each. Sierra Nevada / Russian River collab brew BRUX is first up, followed by Green Flash’s Rayon Vert and then the classic Orval Trappist Ale finishes the show. Enjoy, with friends!

Love listening! I especially enjoyed the Lesson in Kolsch. I’ve recently taken a huge liking to its breadiness. http://etsy.me/y74nbl
Brett is a Saccharomycetaceae, just thought I’d let you know.
