On a recent trip to Paso Robles, California, I had the good fortune of stopping and picking up (more than) a few beers to pack in my purposely half empty/full suitcase. Wrapping each bottle carefully in paper bags, socks and pant legs, I trusted that the bottles would not break in the hands of a luggage handler at the airport…and I was right! I’ve had success in the past having brought beer back from the Pac NW in the same fashion. Three of the beers I brought back were for this episode – West Coast IPAs. Ethan, myself and our friend Anthony (filling in for a sick Nick) tackle 2 classics and 1 newbie. Speakeasy Big Daddy is first up followed by Figueroa Mountain Hoppy Poppy IPA, finishing out with Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Hope you enjoy the show!
Cheers!
P.S. Nick is all better now.

Sorry for the late post. I am new to your show and have been catching up on older podcasts. I am enjoying the information the show provides on beer, as well as the entertainment. Being new to craft beers, your show is just what I needed. During this episode, the following comment was made: “I can’t imagine anything worse than the dry, smokyness of a cigar and trying to wash it down with a good beer.” I am an avid cigar smoker. I will admit it is very easy to ruin a good cigar or a good beer by having the wrong pairing. But I would imagine that this would apply to pipe tobacco and beer, or whatever other imaginable pairing there is out there. I would encourage you not to give up on cigars and beer. They have a lot to offer when paired correctly. I look forward to future episodes and keep up the great work.
